The latest book of barbering by Mara J. Stewart.
The Author

Hello, and welcome to the Surly Barber's page!
My name is Mara Stewart.  I'm a barber in Stuart, FL.  I'm not really as surly as it may seem.  I'm actually quite friendly.   This book started out as a joke.  One day at the barber shop, we were talking about some of our customers of the day, and I said "I should write a book!"  I began to write down some of the things I would tell customers to do or not do if they were to ask.  I just kept thinking of more things to say, and before I knew it, there were 35,000 words in print.  The title came to me after the content.  For the most part, the book is meant to be "tongue and cheek."  I think other barbers will relate to the situations I write about and  find the book amusing.  They may like for their customers to read it.  Barbers and customers alike will benefit by the customer knowing certain things that might make their barber become "surly" in addition to leanring what a barber is, and the difference between types of shops.  There are some barbers who may disagree with some of what is written.  They'll just have to write their own book!
